Hi! I really liked your review of this product. I am looking for something that will achieve low cost/print for color copies and printing but I will also want to be able to print photos. While I will not expect the exact quality of an outsourced printing, I am hoping that there will not be a glaring gap in terms of saturation fo colors, sharpness, and color accuracy that I would be unable to print photos I'd want to frame and look at.
There are mixed comments about Epson photo print quality on the internet with comments about lightness of the prints and some about color accuracy. You seemed to say it is a good printer for photography (which is not same as great but was an endorsement). The rival HP 8600 has SOOO many negative reviews about design "choices" and quality control, I will want to buy the Epson if it gives a reasonable quality photo prints.

Any more you can say on photo print quality?

Hi. Are you gonna do a comparison of the Epson WF 4540 and the HP OfficeJet 8600 Plus. If you are, I'd like to hear about any differences between the two, regarding photo quality on ordinary copy paper and also what brand offer the better ink with respect to water and smudge resistance, right out of the printer and after about 30 min. since a page was printed.

This is an interesting comparison although the author makes a comment near the beginning of the comparison that invalidates the results for me. If I understood correctly, he suggests he didn't use the highest quality settings on any of the printers and did not use the Photoshop 16 bit export plug in that Canon suggests to maximize quality. I want to see a comparison of the VERY BEST that each printer can produce. Print speed, metal casings, and the like are really of minor interest to me in relation to absolute image quality.

Hi love the photos - so were the majority PP'd or in camera hand held HDR?

I'm also curious - what's your take on the camera lens combo? Seen mixed reviews for the lens, and photozone kill it, but would value a professional's opinion -I don't plan to pixel peep wavy lines and grids! and you real life shots are very impressive. I'm new into the world of DSLR and with a kit the lens isn't sooo expensive, relatively speaking - would you recommend the lens to learn with? Thinking 18-135 + 55-300, with primes to come later down the line. I travel a lot and for that reason I'm seeing the k5+18-135 as perfect walk-around combo for my needs if it can provide the goods.

hi mike took your advice and stopped at the starbucks. nice array of pics; was the bee coming out of the flower one of the ones taken when i was next to you at your brothers? and question: the cave and the waterfall; where are they? i was unable to see the map(either im too short or the lights were not bright enough to view the map..) have you had any chance to get shots of the red wolves? which canon camera took those shots? do i have to upgrade my camera, or simply get a better printer?

Mike the footage is just spectacular and by including the sounds as heard by the divers in the Shark Feeding Frenzy video, the only sensations missed by the viewer is the enchantment of being wet and beneath the Coral Sea. All the very best to you and yours mate.

I was stopped at a pull off by Barkhampstead resevoir by some MDC patrol car and it was one of the most ridiculas experiences I've ever had taking pictures. She pulls in while I was changing lenses and I rolled down my window and said whats up. She said what are you doing parked here. I said I was taking pictures. She then says in a gruff tone can I see your pictures and I said sure. She took the camera and I could tell she did'nt have a clue how to operate it and then she made a stupid remark like its a good thing you don't have a picture of the weir dam, at least thats what I thought she said or I would have to delete it,like she would even know how. I then said to her I don't even know where that is! She then sayys to me "you can't take pictures of this area and sell them for profit" I looked at her in total disbeleif and said to her " I don't sell pictures for profit all mine are free on my websites." What a moron!!! Anyhow I could tell she was on a power trip and this was probably the highlight of her day, stopping a person in his car on property that is unmarked with no signs and thats exactly what I said to her. I pulled in here because there were no posted signs or anything indicating this peice of property twenty feet from the main highway was super top secret. Then she says something else dumb like, commen sense should tell me not that this is not a place to be. Where is Kresken when you need him. I had to bite my tounge now because I was getting agitated. So next she said ," can I see your license please. " Holy crap she actually was human I was shocked she used the magic word, but like a good little citizen sheep I said sure,baa,baa. I handed her my license so she could run a terrorist check and feel like she saved the world for George W. and company. I sninely said to her "I'am not hurting anybody". After a few minutes she return and I thanked her and said they really should post this area, as just up the road people were pulled of at a marked state forest. She headed back to her car and I had to have the last word so I said excuse me but can you tell me where I can go and take pictures around here and she said you can go back up the road where there is a green fence and drive in there. Thanks! This experience just shows what a paranoid country we live in. Taxpyers pay to build dams and they can't take a picture of them, such stupidity I could'nt stand it anylonger! I just now got on google map and found tons of pictures taken by ordinary people of this areas dams and I know of no one who has been arexted yet, but I will call my congressman and tell him to get his ass in gear.

I have bought a G1 for my wife in december last year.
We are very happy with it so far, my only regret being the fact that I haven't been able to find any underwater housing for it.
Does anyone have information abut the possible release of an underwater housing for the G1 sometime in the near future?
